High School & College Students
Students in the Bay Area are longing to belong. They carry a lot of pain, pressures, self-doubts, and loneliness that often leads them to make negative spiritual or physical decisions. At Compassion Bridges we believe that students need spiritual and moral support throughout all of their schooling. We can’t just reach one age group and ignore the rest. We need to engage students with the life altering message of Jesus Christ contextually relevant. Our Kids Club program in partnerships with churches and other non-profits seeks to work with students in elementary and jr. high schools.

Gathering of the Unashamed

H I S T O R Y

The Gathering of the Unashamed was an event started with the vision of uniting churches in the South Bay, to empower students for campus leadership to worship God as a united body, and to celebrate students who stood and prayed faithfully at their flagpoles for "See You At The Pole (SYATP)." Six years ago, we held the first Gathering in Cesar Chavez Park with 800 people and 25+ churches. Since that first Gathering in 2003, the event has grown every year. The Gathering has been a partnership of youth and college leaders, non-profit organizations, Christian business leaders, and other supporting Christian organizations empowered by the Holy Spirit to reach out to young people in the Bay Area. The Gathering has now expanded to 5 other cities.

S I G N I F I C A N C E
1. Youth and college students in the South Bay need to know they are loved, appreciated, and
that they can do great things with their lives. We want to empower them to be campus and
community leaders in service, prayer, and lead with great character.

2. We believe that youth need to have alternatives to gangs and dangerous activities that many
are getting involved with. This event is 80% student led on stage and will help demonstrate
to their peers that they can do better things in their lives than waste it hurting themselves
    and others.

3. We know that students who pray and acknowledge God in their lives will very often
become community leaders and have a very positive influence on their schools, in their
cities, and for the youth culture.

This rally comes at a critical time when many youth are categorized as hopeless, uncaring, and un-involved. Those attending this rally want to show a different side to youth culture. Many youth today have chosen not to be defined by MTV, rap music, drugs, or overly sexualized Hollywood films and reality shows.

Churches throughout the nation are seeking to support Christian students as they step up to be leaders at their schools. The Gathering of the Unashamed and See You at the Pole events are great opportunities to encourage your students to take a stand on their school campuses and show the love of God through unity and prayer.
Fusion

Fusion is a South Bay unity effort to bring youth groups together for evangelism.

Fusion was organized with the vision of starting a powerful ecumenical worship service in the South Bay Area. We believe this is a powerful way of evangelizing to students and encouraging and training student leaders. With the few gatherings we have held so far, we had 14 churches with an average of 400 students at each of our events. We have had over 150 students make first time decisions for Christ or rededicate their lives to Christ at these events.

The motto we are proposing consists of several things:

1. The leadership must be from different denominational backgrounds
2. The heart of the evening must focus on evangelism
3. We purpose to make these events fun and exciting so students can
    invite their friends
4. We want to challenge Christians to invite their non-Christian friends and
live more boldly for Christ on their campuses

Videos from the Gathering
We also desire to reach High School and College age students by supporting existing campus ministries and helping sponsor or host youth and college outreach events. We continually give support and advice on how to reach this generation for Christ and believe that helping ministries unite their resources with one another will bring about a greater revival for the Bay Area. If there is any project or vision you have to reach young people for Jesus we would love to hear your story and help make the right connections for you. Below you can read about and see videos from some of the events we have helped sponsor in the past.
